Romulus Central School Property Tax Bills

Romulus Central School Property Tax Bills

Good afternoon,

Please see below important information regarding property tax bills:

The Romulus Central School district has been notified of an issue with the new, New York State tax software. NYS Taxation and Finance is currently investigating the issue. We are waiting to hear from NYS Taxation and Finance regarding the specific number of property owners affected. The affected property owners are property owners with agricultural exemptions who were slightly underbilled because the system used a previous year’s equalization rate.

Taxpayers should pay the amount shown on their current tax bill. New York State Taxation and Finance is expected to provide the County with the finalized tax amounts this week. This will allow the omitted portion to be identified and corrected through the omitted tax process on the 2027 tax bill. Affected agricultural property owners will see the correction added to their 2027 tax bill. Other taxpayers will see a small adjustment to their 2027 taxes.

Acreage Information

Some tax bills show an incorrect acreage amount due to the New York State software error. The District has confirmed that the acreage listed does not affect the property’s assessment or taxes owed. Future tax bills will show the correct acreage. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we correct this issue. For more information, please contact the tax collector, email: Hayley.Case(@wflboces.org

Thank you,

Jenn Hayden

Superintendent, Romulus CSD
