Town of Varick Planning Board
The Planning Board in Varick develops and regulates the Zoning Code and theSubdivision Code to shape land use policies. It approves subdivisions and issues Special Use Permits and Short-term Rental Permits in accordance with those codes.
Meetings are held at the Varick Town Hall on the fourth Thursday of January through October and the third Thursday in November and December at 7 pm.

Lot line adjustment
Lot-line adjustments that do not create a new parcel are governed by the Subdivision Code and require Plannign Board approval. They are simple to execute than other subdivisions. An application form is provided in PDF or electronic completion. On the Forms page.
Minor Subdivisions
For minor subdivisions, entailing the division of a lot into fewer than five lots or the adjustment of a lot line, an official application form is provided in PDF format for printing and as a Word document for electronic completion.
Major Subdivisions
Major subdivisions, dividing a parcel into five or more lots (in one action or over several years), require a process too elaborate for a specific form; instead. Applications should follow the procedure in Article III, IV, and V of the Subdivision Code. Certain uses noted in Section 308 of the Zoning Code also require a Special Use permit.
